Triallist Harrison Bell has earned a contract with Blue Square Bet South club Dorchester Town until the end of the 2011/12 season.
Magpies boss Ashley Vickers has been impressed with the Bell`s efforts during pre-season and rewarded the 18-year-old defender a permanent deal.
Bell, who can also operate in midfield, was released by npower League One neighbours AFC Bournemouth last season.
Vickers said: “Harrison’s got great fitness levels and I’ve been really impressed with him.
“He was keen to come on board – he can play right-back or in centre midfield and has an exceptionally good attitude. He has a bright future.
“A lot of players have come down for pre-season and you have to look at them all, otherwise you run the risk of missing out on a gem.
“As a player, when you get an opportunity you have to take it and Harrison has done that.”
