North West Counties League Premier Division club Alsager Town have announced that manager Andy Turner has…
…resigned from the position to take up the number two position at Evo-Stik Northern Premeir League First Division South promotion-chasers Coalville Town.
Club chairman Terry Greer said he was “saddened” at the news, and added: “I would like to thank Andy for all his effort, commitment and personal sacrifice over the past eighteen months in his position within the club.
“Andy does not live in the area, so there was a lot of travelling, but he worked hard for the club.
“Coalville is closer to where he lives, so now he can spend a bit more time with his family instead of being on the road for hours.
“His decision to leave was a personal one, and he left on the best of terms and with the club’s best wishes.
“Phil Parkinson, a former Nantwich Town and Kidsgrove Athletic player, has agreed to take up the vacant post with immediate effect. Phil met the squad last night at training.
“Assistant-manager Mick Hathaway and coach Callum Carey will remain in their posts within the club.”
