Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South club Gresley FC have completed the signing of defenders Mitch Hanson and Liam Guest.
A former England Youth international, Hanson, 25, started his career with Derby County and had loan spells with Port Vale and Notts County, for whom he made five League appearances, during his time at Pride Park.
A series of injuries saw him finally being released by the Rams in January 2011 and subsequently signed for Oxford United following a successful trial.
However, injuries again struck and restricted him to just two first-team games for the U`s and he was allowed to leave at the end of the 2010/11 season.
In September 2011 he signed for then Conference North side Eastwood Town, but they suffered on and off the field and were relegated, having won just four games all season.
In October 2012 Hanson was appointed joint caretaker-manager, alongside Paul Riley following the departure of former manager John Ramshaw.
Guest is a young centre-half who was released by Notts County at the end of last season after manager Chris Kiwomya decided not to offer him – and five others – professional deals.
Hanson and Guest are both included in the squad for today’s home game against Loughborough Dynamo.
