Dave Hockaday, manager of Blue Square Bet Premier club Forest Green Rovers, has brought in two forwards ahead of….
….Saturday`s game at Mansfield Town.
Matt Paterson has signed on a month`s loan from Southend United, having only just finished a loan stint in Scotland with Hamilton Academical.
Paterson is a natural goalscorer with physical presence and good ability on the ball. He started his career with AFC Bournemouth as a youngster before moving along the south coast to join Southampton
He made his full debut for the Saints in a 1-1 home draw in the Championship against Reading. He then went on to start against Manchester United in the Third Round of the F.A Cup but was sent-off for a foul on Nemanja Vidic which curtailed his involvement for the next three games.
In January 2010 Paterson moved to Southend and he has made twenty-seven appearances for them as well as having loan spells with Stockport County last season and then Hamilton from August until January 1st.
Meanwhile, returning to the New Lawn is another forward, Liam Henderson, whose loan spell with the club ended last month.
Henderson’s returned to parent club York City last week. But has now returned until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old orginally signed for Rovers in November, marked his move with a goal on debut against Braintree Town the following day in Rovers 5-1 demolition of the Essex side.
Henderson made five league appearances in his first spell, including three starts, after being brought in by manager David Hockaday after a bad run of injuries to key striking personnel.
