Matt Delaney, skipper of Sydenhams Football League (Wessex) League Premier Division club Verwood Town, is to…..

….leave Potterne Park after Christmas as he is emigrating to USA.

Delaney joined the Potters three years ago and was instrumental in their promotion from Division One.

He has previously played for Bournemouth Poppies and Cobham Sports.

He is hoping to re-join Seacoast United Phantoms on his return to America, a side that he captained in New Hampshire during his university days.
