Ian Walker, the new manager of Blue Square Bet South club Bishop`s Stortford, has signed midfielder Dean Rance from…

…npower League Two neighbours Gillingham on a month`s loan.

The first year professional has yet to taste senior football for the Gills after spending the early part of the season sidelined with injury.

He broke a bone in his foot in the pre-season game at Bromley and joined Ryman League Premier Division side Maidstone United in January to get much-needed match practice.

Rance, who was born in Maidstone, finished the 2009/10 season as top scorer for the Gillingham youth team.

It was the second time Rance had been with the Stones, having joined them briefly on a `work experience` deal last season.

Walker has also extended the loan of utility player Harlee Dean from Southampton until the end of the season.
