Welcome Return for Cooke

There was a welcome face amongst Truro City`s substitutes’ at Eastbourne Borough in the Vanarama National League South on Saturday as the popular Cody Cooke edges ever nearer to a return to action.

The attacking midfielder has been sidelined since the end of September with a troublesome hernia problem.

“To say that it has been frustrating would be an understatement,” he admitted. “I’m not a good watcher of football at the best of times and I’ve never been out injured for this length of time before.

“It’s not just been the injury that has been frustrating over the past five months, but the whole process of the treatment of it.

“Thankfully I have been looked after by some good people and now I am really excited to be back involved again.

“I’m still not 100% now as I have to build up my match fitness levels. I’ve kept a decent base fitness so that has helped, but it’s just nice to be pain-free and able to push on.

“I’m now back training with the lads, which has given me a big boost; they have welcomed me back with open arms and there’s a good atmosphere amongst them. It’s a positive environment and I am happy to be part of it again”.
