The Board of Directors of Conference South club Weston-super-Mare have interviewed a number of applicants for the post of first-team coach.
And they have announced that Micky Bell has accepted the post and joins on a one-year contract.
Bell has vast knowledge of local players which will help him develop a strong Conference South Team.
After a successful playing career including a stint at the Seagulls, Bell cut his managerial teeth at Calor League Southern Division One South & West neighbours Clevedon Town.
Richard Sloane, on behalf of the Board, said: “Micky is a great addition to the management of the first-team at the club. His understanding and willingness to work within the club structure was important to us to ensure that the club can continue to drive on in the same direction.
“His vision for football here is the same as ours and he has plenty of great contacts that we can use more effectively at Conference level than he could previously in the Southern League.
“With a head coach appointed we will now be looking towards maintaining adding to the playing squad for next season.
“Micky stated that he is really pleased to get the opportunity and is excited with the challenge ahead. He is looking forward to working with everyone at the club and building a squad for the coming season.”
Bell will take up his duties on 2nd June.
