Skrill South club Whitehawk have signed experienced goalkeeper Jamie Young from Basingstoke Town and….
…..promising striker Lewis Wilson from Kettering Town.
Young, 28, recently had a short spell with the Hawks` league rivals Basingstoke after being released by Conference North side Aldershot Town, for whom he made 123 appearances in a three-year stay at the Rec.
Australian-born, he played for Albany Creek `down under` before coming over to England to try his luck with Reading in 2002.
He played just once in the Royals` senior side, but did have a twenty-game spell in League Two with the sadly now defunct Rushden & Diamonds.
He returned to Reading only to be released at the end of the 2005/06 season and signed for Wycombe, for whom he appeared thirty-nine times before moving onto Aldershot in March 2010.
Although Aussie-born, Young represented England at under-18, 19 and under-20 level.
Wilson returned to the beleaguered Poppies just days before the new Calor League Southern Division One Central campaign got underway.
The striker enjoyed two successful loan spells with the Poppies during a trouble campaign last season and hit nine goals, including a hat-trick in the 4-3 victory at Hitchin Town on Boxing Day last year.
He was released by the Cobblers at the end of the 2012/13 season and agreed to join Kettering on non-contract terms ahead of the opening-day fixture at Potters Bar Town.
