Former Walsall skipper Richard Taundry has signed for Skrill North club Worcester City.

Taundry had been training with Midland Combination side Pelsall Villa as he looked for a return to the professional game.

The 24-year-old defender was released by the Saddlers at the end of last season and had been unable to find another club.

He knew Pelsall Villa boss Craig Timmins from his youth team days at the Banks’s Stadium and signed forms for them.

Taundry came up through the ranks at Walsall and made his senior debut in the 2007/08 season.

He totalled 152 first-team appearances for the Saddlers, scoring three times, but was released at the end of last season.
