Woking “Need Four More Wins” – And The Clock Is Ticking Says Boss Hill

Woking simply “have to win” at bogey ground Cressing Road tomorrow night, home of relegation rivals Braintree Town.

Boss Garry Hill knows it’s now or never for the Cards, who then take on fellow strugglers Maidstone United at home on Saturday.

But first Woking must pick up maximum points at the Iron where they haven’t won in their last six attempts.

Saturday’s crushing 2-1 injury-time defeat at Gateshead kept Hill’s men still one point adrift of safety but having played more games than Torquay United and Maidstone above them and York city just below.

With eight fixtures remaining, time is running out for Woking.

“We need four wins, there’s no secret about that. We have to do that to have a chance and it’s a tough order,” said the experienced Hill.

“Our away performances have been better than what they’ve been at home recently. We’ve got to go to Braintree and win there. There’s no other result for us which is realistic to give us any help.

“We have to go there and try and win the game on Tuesday for sure.”

Braintree saw-off rock-bottom Southport 2-0 on the weekend for their first win in three games.
