Vanarama National League relegation-battlers York City have signed left-back Sam Muggleton on a deal until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old has Football League experience with Barnet, and played at National League rivals Eastleigh earlier in the season after re-uniting with his former Bees` boss Martin Allen at the Silverlake Stadium.

The son of former Leicester City, Celtic and Stoke City goalkeeper Carl Muggleton, Sam had also been with Allen at Gillingham.

But he left along with Allen last month after making just five appearances for the Spitfires.

He operates as either a left-back or left-sided midfielder, and he trained with the City squad to meet his new team-mates earlier on Monday afternoon.
