Basildon United are through to the next round after a Marcus Bowers double saw them defeat Spartan South Midlands League side St Margaretsbury.
After a goalless opening half the visitors broke the deadlock when a low free-kick from Bowers found the bottom corner and the visitors quickly doubled their lead when Bowers rolled home from the edge of the box.
The hosts did grab a goal back when Courtney Clay was allowed too much time outside the box and duly produced a good, but the Bees managed to hold on and set-up a re-match with Emirates FA Cup opponents Walsham-le-Willows in the Second Qualifying Round.
Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League side AFC Hayes went through 3-0 at St Margaretsbury`s league rivals Hatfield Town with goals from Max Benincasa after 38 minutes, Dean McDonnell 4 minutes later and Lukas Packzowski just shy of the hour-mark.
