You Spennymoor Town are heading up into the Vanarama National League North after winning the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division play-off final on Saturday at the Brewery Field.
In front of a crowd of 1,699, Stourbridge`s promotion dreams died for another year after a tight encounter.
A close game was to be expected as the Moors had only finished a couple of points ahead of the Glassboys in the regular season and the two league matches between the sides both ended in draws.
Rob Ramshaw netted the only goal of the game on 29 minutes to seal promotion for the Moors in their first season at Step 3.
The home side dominated the first half and were well worth their interval lead as the Glassboys rarely threatened, whilst visiting `keeper Matt Gould more than once had to be at his best to deny the home side.
Stourbridge came into the match more after the break without creating enough serious chances until stoppage time, when Dan Lowson produced a fine save from Luke Benbow’s free-kick and then denied Kennedy Digie moments later.
Jason Ainsley’s side now take up their position at the highest level in the club’s history.
Another season done. Absolutely gutted! But what a great season, 3rd round FA cup and play off final. What a set of lads ❤️⚽️
