Bostik League North promotion-chasers Maldon & Tiptree have pulled off something of a coup by signing experienced striker Lee Barnard on loan from Vanarama National League South neighbours Chelmsford City on loan until the end of the season.
Barnard joins the Clarets in July 2017 having spent a season with Essex neighbours Braintree Town.
The 33-year-old made thirty-five appearances for The Iron last season, netting three times as the Cressing Road outfit were relegated to the National League South.
A former Tottenham Hotspur youngster, Barnard has an abundance of Football League experience having played for Leyton Orient, Southend United, Southampton, Bournemouth and Crawley Town amongst others.
Barnard, who has made ten starts and eight appearances on the Clarets bench this season, should feature in the Jammers squad for the match against Bury Town tomorrow.
