Chris Bolder, the new manager of Vanarama National League North club North Ferriby United, has signed former Scarborough Athletic team-mate Craig Nelthorpe.

The experienced and well-travelled 30-year-old joined Scarborough in the summer of 2016, having finished the 2015/16 season with Evo-Stik League Premier side Matlock Town.

Nelthorpe started his career with local side Brodsworth Miners Welfare and then Frickley Athletic before being signed by home-town club Doncaster Rovers in 2004.

He went on to make ten appearances for Rovers, scoring against Northampton Town in May 2007.

Whilst on Rovers` books, he had loan spells with the likes of Kidderminster Harriers, Hucknall Town, Gateshead, Halifax Town and Darlington before being released by Doncaster, joining Oxford United in January 2009.

Spells with Gateshead, Gainsborough Trinity, Winterton Rangers, Matlock, Eastwood Town, Brigg Town, Frickley and Gainsborough again followed before he signed for Harrogate Town at the beginning of the 2013/14 season.

He quickly endeared himself to the fans at Harrogate with his action-packed displays, wild goal celebrations and his long-range shooting.

But, after sixty-two appearances and 8 goals for Town, he found his opportunities limited and moved `Down Under` and turned out for Melbourne-based Mornington in early 2015.

He returned to England to join Matlock and then Scarborough.
