Evo-Stik League South West club Evesham United have signed young striker Olly Mehew on loan from SkyBet League Two side Forest Green Rovers until the end of the season.

The ex-Bristol Rovers forward has just returned from a spell with Evesham`s league rivals Bideford AFC and has also played for current leaders Taunton Town and their title-rivals Salisbury FC this season.

He appeared for Mangotsfield United, Dorchester Town and Cirencester Town on loan last term before making his first-team debut for Rovers as a substitute against York City on the final day of the regular season before the Nailsworth club’s successful play-off bid.

The 20-year-old is the son of former Forest Green winger and Gloucester City manager Dave Mehew.

He will go straight into Evesham’s squad to face Winchester City at home tomorrow.
