Evo-Stik League South club Frickley Athletic have signed midfielder Tyler Walton from Vanarama National league North side York City for the remainder of the season.
Walton was released by Leeds United, Barnsley and Manchester City as a schoolboy.
The 19-year-old originally signed professional forms at Bootham Crescent in May 2016 and, after impressing in a reserve team fixture at Hartlepool United, made his debut as a substitute in a 2-0 away defeat at Torquay United.
However, he was released by the club in May 2017 but was invited back on trial and, after impressing new manager Martin Gray both in training and in reserve team outings, was offered a contract to resume his career with York.
Frickley manager Spencer Fearn told the club`s official Pitchero website: “Tyler has had a very good footballing education at Manchester City and Leeds United, he can play off both feet and he likes to get forward. We are delighted that he has joined us until the end of this campaign.”
Walton goes straight into the squad for today`s game away at Peterborough Sports.
