Good Signs At The Black Gold

Despite the disappointment off relegation from the Vanarama National League South, the mood is good at Poole Town.

On and off the field, plans are well underway for the Dolphins` coming campaign.

Eight of last season’s squad are already confirmed and, like manager Tommy Killick, determined to do well in the re-constituted Evo-Stik Southern League South.

Those players are Marvin Brooks, Steve Devlin, Jack Dickson, Corby Moore, Luke Roberts, Jake Smeeton, Will Spetch and Captain Jamie Whisken.

Discussions are ongoing with other members of the 2107/18 squad and there are likely to be new players added in the coming weeks.

The reduction in the Southern League’s size from twenty-four to twenty-two teams means fewer midweek league matches and less travelling.

The Southern League South includes local rivals Weymouth, Dorchester Town, Salisbury FC and Gosport Borough, meaning more local matches, especially on Bank Holidays.
