The 22-year-old can play both left-back and in the centre of defence.
Jones has joined the Bluebirds following his release from Grimsby Town at the end of last season.
He started his youth career at Sunderland before moving onto Hartlepool United in 2011 where he made his reserve team debut the same year.
Jones signed a professional deal for the Pools in 2013 where we went on to make thirty-seven appearances.
Jones joined Grimsby in the summer of 2016, appearing three times for the Mariners before he was loaned out to Gateshead and AFC Fylde later that season.
