Bostik League Premier club Margate have signed 25-year-old midfielder Alex Brown from Vanarama National League South side Dartford for the 2018/19 season.
Brown began his career at Gillingham before joining Maidstone United, making over 100 appearances for the Stones.
He made a loan move to Leatherhead which was made permanent towards the latter part of the 2015/16 season.
Brown then joined Dartford in 2016 where he has enjoyed a prolific spell.
Margate`s first-team coach Mike Sandmann expressed his delight at securing the midfielder’s signature for the upcoming campaign, telling the club`s official website: “Alex is a fantastic addition to the group. He was a regular for Dartford last year and I look forward to working with him again. Alex will bring goals from midfield as well as his hard-working attitude. I’m pretty confident he will also become a fans’ favourite here at Margate.”
The Gate fought off stiff competition to capture the highly sought player with Sandmann adding: “It’s great testament to the club we’re able to attract a player of Alex’s calibre and recruit someone whose ambitions match our own”.
I would like to thank @dartfordfc all the players staff and fans for a brilliant two seasons ! Gutted didn’t go out on a high with the season we had deserved so much more ! The boys will get it done next season 🎯 #upthedarts
