Ian Miller has become manager Mark Morsley’s latest recruit for Bostik League North club AFC Sudbury.

The former Ipswich Town defender will bring some much-needed experience to the young squad that Morsley is building at King’s Marsh.

Thirty-four-year-old Miller had until recently been playing his football with Evo-Stik League South East outfit Cambridge City and combining it with working at the AFC Sudbury academy.

Miller started his career in non-League football with Bury Town, and then moved into the Football League with Ipswich.

He also spent time on loan in the lower divisions of the Football League at Boston United and Darlington, before joining the Quakers on a permanent basis in 2008.

He left Darlington in late 2011 and signed for Grimsby Town soon afterwards.

He joined Cambridge United and led the team to a second-place finish and FA Trophy glory at Wembley.

He then played briefly at Braintree Town before linking up with Morsley at Needham Market prior to going to Cambridge City.

He will go straight into the Sudbury squad to face Haringey Borough at King’s Marsh tomorrow.
