Nantwich Town have confirmed that defender Toby Mullarkey has further committed to the Evo-Stik League Premier club by signing a contract.
The centre-back was one of manager Dave Cooke’s summer signings joining from Leek Town and has featured heavily in the back four this season.
Mullarkey is currently close to a return from injury after suffering a horrific leg injury last month in a 3-0 win away at Matlock Town.
He has scored once this season in the 5-1 defeat away at Altrincham.
Meanwhile, veteran striker Steve Jones has signed a duel-registration deal with Hallmark Security League Division One side Sandbach United.
But Dabbers` manager Dave Cooke insists the former Northern Ireland international has left temporarily to improve his match sharpness.
Jones, 41, has not played since December 2nd and has been away for a week, and he will not be involved in the Dabbers’ trip to face Workington this weekend (Saturday, 3pm).
That means the former Crewe Alex, Burnley and Bradford man could well be involved for United in their Division One fixture at St Helens Town.
But Cooke says Jones, a fans’ favourite at the Weaver Stadium, is likely to be back in his ranks for the busy festive programme.
