Jamie Vardy`s V9 Academy for 2018 was launched at the King Power Stadium last month and it`s first attendees have been signed up.
At the launch for the 2018 academy, Vardy was joined by one of the 2017 graduates Alex Penny, now playing for SkyBet League One side Peterborough United.
One of the first players to be signed up for the new intake came from Penny`s former club, Nuneaton Town.
Luther Wildin has accepted his place on this year’s academy.
Formerly with Notts County, Wildin is a 20-year-old defender who can operate as a right-back or central defender.
He has been followed by a trio of players from Nuneaton`s Vanarama National League North rivals Darlington in right-back Luke Trotman, centre-back Josh Heaton and midfielder Joe Wheatley.
The trio have agreed to join after being watched in action by former Darlington defender Lee Tucker, who represents Vardy’s organisation.
The coaching takes place at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium, where all of the course participants will have access to City’s excellent facilities and sample a Premiership club environment between Sunday, 3rd June and Friday, 8th June.
