Bostik League North club Soham Town Rangers signed two players ahead of Saturday`s 2-2 draw at Aveley.

Arriving at the Lane are Lee Chaffey and Craig Gillies, both from Evo-Stik League South Premier sides.

Chaffey joins from St Ives Town.

The experienced 33-year-old defender joined the Saints at the beginning of last season after spending thirteen years at Cambridge City, where he made over 650 appearances for the Lilywhites in both the Southern League and in the Conference (National League) South, having originally begun his career in the Ipswich Town academy.

Gillies joins from King`s Lynn Town on a month`s loan.

The 25-year-old striker signed for Lynn at the start of the season after stepping up four levels having been playing for Chatteris Town in the Kershaw Cambridgeshire League, where he scored over 80 goals in the last two seasons.
