Vanarama National League South club Truro City are back in home action on Saturday as they take on East Thurrock United.

The White Tigers` draw with Hemel Hempstead Town in their last game means they are now on a five-match unbeaten run to sit fifth in the table with games in hand on each of the clubs above them.

Now Truro welcome an East Thurrock outfit that sit twelfth in the table having won seven of their seventeen away league games this term.

It took a late penalty from Connor Riley-Lowe to give the White Tigers a narrow 2-1 victory in the reverse fixture back in September and manager Lee Hodges knows that his side are in for another tough examination at the weekend.

He told the club`s official Pitchero website: “We edged past East Thurrock with a late goal in the reverse fixture earlier in the season but my mind goes back to last season when they beat us comfortably home and away, so it shows what they are capable of,” he said. “It’ll be another tricky assignment for us to negotiate, there’s no question about that, but we have a big opportunity to really push on and get in that top three.

“Four of our seven remaining league games are at home and hopefully we’ll get the numbers turn up to create a winning atmosphere here.

“The backing that we received against Hemel Hempstead certainly helped us to take something from the game and at this stage of the season, every point is vital.

“We have the chance to give it one big final push with everyone playing their part. We’ve come this far, so let’s make it a positive end to the season”.
