Gary Alexander, manager of Bostik League South East club Ashford United, has followed up the signings of Ollie Rowe from Hastings United and Lea Dawson from Cray Wanderers with the arrival of two more new signings.
Former Tooting & Mitcham United title-winning centre-back Antonio Simeone and ex-Greenwich Borough defender Tom Carsle join as the Nuts & Bolts third and fourth signings of the summer to date.
Italian-born Simeone joins from league rivals Whyteleafe where he played in the league fifteen times last campaign scoring once, though earlier last season he went on loan to Molesey where he played twenty-seven games, scoring 5 times.
Alexander told Ashford`s official website: “I am pleased to have secured the services of Antonio. He’s a player with a wealth of experience and knows the league. I’m sure he’ll be a great addition to our team.”
Carlse joins from Alexander`s former club, Greenwich where he made forty appearances during the last campaign, scoring 3 goals from defence.
Alexander signed him for Boro from Sittingbourne in June 2017.
He was the leading appearance-maker for Sittingbourne in 2016/17 as they finished fifteenth, scoring 5 goals in the process.
Carlse joined the Brickies from East Grinstead Town in February 2016, following spells at Erith Town and Corinthian FC.
Alexander added: “I am a very happy man to be back working with Tom Carlse, a player who I signed at Greenwich and somebody with real quality. I’m really pleased he’s back on my side”.
