Thatcham Town were sweating on the result in the Bracknell Town versus Tuffley Rovers clash at Larges Lane in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division on Saturday.

If the Robins won by 11 clear goals then the title would be wrested from the Kingfisher’s grasp, if it was 10 clear goals then it would be down to goals scored difference.

Bracknell went in at half-time with a 5-0 lead, the second half they were also on target – without reply from Tuffley. But despite a fantastic performance in front of nearly 300 supporters they fell just 2 goals short of lifting the league title – scorers being Seb Bowerman, Joe Grant and Adam Cornell with braces, TJ Bohane and Carl Davies with singles.

Abingdon United dominated the game to run out comfortable 3-0 winners against Highmoor-Ibis for the last game of the season, scorers being John Dennis, Joe Green and Graham Edney.

Brackley Town Saints and Fairford Town shared the points with a 1-1 result at Cinder Lane Stadium, although it was the Saints home fixture, their ground was not available, with Lewis Baldwin for the Saints and Jamie Hemming for the visitors.

Bottom club Burnham managed a 2-2 draw against Wantage Town at The Gore with goals from Brandon Granville and Dan Taylor for the hosts,
Jamie Hemming and Steve Robertson for the visitors.

Flackwell Heath and Brimscombe & Thrupp drew 1-1 through two first half goals at Wilks Park from Dean Allen for the hosts and Karl Nash for the away side.

Lydney Town went down to 2-0 to Windsor FC at Lydney Recreation Ground, courtesy of second half goals from Matty Woods with a brace.

Woodley United lost their home fixture against Longlevens through three second goals scored by the visitors at Rivermoor from Brad Martin, Shaun O’Connor and Connor Linham.
