Dorking Wanderers have announced the signing of Dan Walker from Bostik League Premier rivals Billericay Town.

The pacey 27-year-old winger arrives in Dorking having played most of his career at the highest levels of non-League football, in the National League Premier and South divisions.

Prior to joining high-flying Billericay, Walker had successful spells at Aldershot Town, Cambridge United, Braintree Town and Luton.

Dorking manager Marc White told the club`s official website: “Obviously this is our first season at this level of football and we’ve been finding our feet to some extent, but we’re not here to stand still. We’ve always got an eye on progression, looking out for players who can enhance our squad and help take things to the next level. Dan’s definitely one of those players, experienced with a strong football pedigree and still at peak age.”

Having joined ambitious promotion favourites Billericay in early 2017, Walker says it was the future plans in Dorking that tempted him to leave Essex for Marc White’s squad: “Dorking have achieved a remarkable amount in a short time and have a great vision for the future. There’s an impressive playing squad that’s grown with the club and is going to keep getting better – and with the move to the new town centre stadium next month, it’s an exciting place to be playing football. I’ll be doing my very best to help the club get further success.”

Walker had just returned to Billericay following a spell on loan with Evo-Stik League South Premier side Farnborough and is likely to go straight into the Dorking squad for this weekend.
