Laurence Revell has informed ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Division One club Potton United of his intention to resign as first-team manager due to increased work and personal commitments.
Also leaving the club is his assistant Graham Hager and coach Kevin O’Sullivan.
Chairman Alan Riley told his club`s official Pitchero website: “Laurence has done a brilliant job of taking over the team from Darren Staniforth and for making a number of changes that has put the club in a better position to compete at the top of this division. I wish him, and the others, all the very best in whatever they choose to do next.”
Club football manager Darren Staniforth commented: “I took a call from Laurence where he made his intentions clear. I wanted Laurence to think about this and talk to him management team before making the final decision. Laurence has put everything into this job and I thank him for his commitment.”
The club have move quickly to confirm Steve Kuhne as their new first-team manager with immediate effect, with his management team to be in post in the near future.
Staniforth added: “Alan and I met with Steve and it was clear that he was excited by the prospect of being Potton United’s manger. We were able to agree his availability and believe getting him in as soon as possible is the right thing to do.
“The club really believe in the group of players we have at the moment, and Steve is confident he will be able to get the best out of this current squad. Everyone at the club wishes him well for the rest of the season”.
