Evo-Stik League North club Radcliffe Borough have announced that former Chelsea, Leicester City and Burnley defender Frank Sinclair has joined the coaching team as assistant-manager to new boss Jon Macken.

This is another sign of intent from the club as Sinclair brings with him a huge amount of experience from all levels of the game, from playing at the top level through to Managing in non-League where he had successful spells at Colwyn Bay and Hednesford Town.

Macken said: “This is a great signing. I had a few different people in mind but after speaking with Frank it was clear he was struck by the ambition of the football club and wanted to be part of it. We have always got along and we have similar ideas and approaches to the game. So his appointment is only going to help me, help the team and boost the reputation of this club.”

Sinclair is due to be introduced to the players at training this evening and in the dug-out on Saturday at Kendal Town.

Chairman Paul Hilton said: “I am delighted to welcome Frank to the Club. This is a great appointment and shows just how serious we are about making an impact with this Club. Franks experience and contacts at this level from his time in management will be a great resource along with his clear knowledge of the game from his successful playing career”.
