After two extremely successful seasons with Bostik League Premier newcomers Dorking Wanderers, Dean Gunner has decided to move on and look for a new challenge from next season.
During Gunner’s spell, the team had back-to-back runner-up finishes in the Ryman South, and he was part of the successful promotion-winning side that went up via the play-offs at the end of last season.
Manager Marc White applauded Gunner’s efforts, and said: “Dean is a multi-talented footballer who can play fifty games a season in a variety of positions, and he’ll be sorely missed from the surroundings. It’s worth noting that in the past few seasons the team has been incredibly successful, and Dean has played a big part in that. I wish him all the very best in the future, and like all old previous players no doubt he will continue to have strong links with the club.”
Gunner commented: “I decided to move on and look for a new challenge for next season. I’d like to thank everybody at the club for everything, in particular Marc and his management team, and I wish them all the best in the future. Dorking Wanderers is a very special club that’s going places, and I feel proud to have played a part in its journey”.
