Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side Maltby Main will have joint managers for the new season after they moved quickly to replace Jordan Hall who had to leave the role earlier this week writes Tom Feaheny.

Mark Askwith and Scott Mason will be be taking charge of the club with John Crossland their assistant.

A club statement revealed the news, that said

“Mark has a lot of knowledge of the club and was joint boss for all of the 2015/16 season and the first half of last season so is well suited to return. It’s brilliant he agreed to come back after discussions.

“Scott and John are very successful in the local Sunday league particularly with The Joker over the last few years. They won every trophy available including the very prestigious Hallamshire Sunday Cup.

“They did an unprecedented quadruple this season, winning a fifth trophy at the weekend by beating the Sunday league champions from Humberside/East Yorkshire, 1-0.

“The pair know many local players and past Main players who also played for them on Sundays and we welcome that as part of our club alongside the new guys from further afield.

The pair replace Hall, who did not take charge of a competitive match for the club. He had to step down due to work commitments.
