The only game that survived the wet on Thursday night in the Bostik League North was at Scraley Road where Heybridge Swifts entertained fellow play-off contenders Canvey Island.

Swifts, playing their fifth game in nine days made it back-to-back wins and move into the top six, five points behind fourth-placed Canvey with two games till in hand.

The home side hit the Gulls with a two-goal burst in 2 minutes midway through the first half from Harrison Chatting and Matthew Price.

January signing from league rivals Brentwood Town, Price went on to complete his hat-trick with goals in the 61st and 63rd minutes, with well-known Essex non-League marksman Martin Tuohy coming off the bench to net a 70th minute penalty reply for Canvey.
