After an initial two-month loan from SkyBet League One side Blackpool, Evo-Stik League North club Skelmersdale United have announced that young goalkeeper Jack Sims has extended his loan deal until the New Year.
Sims came to the club in July with a history of clean sheets and penalty saves at youth level and achieved both in the 2-0 win over Glossop North End before a vital penalty save just two days later in the 2-2 draw at Prescot Cables.
The star performances saw him win the JDP player of the month award for August.
Despite the mixed results for the club recently, Sims has been praised by the fans for pulling off some vital saves in difficult games and his extension will surely be welcomed by the United faithful.
Sims said: “I’m happy to extend my loan because my main aim this year was to play games and I’m getting a lot of game time at Skem. I’ve enjoyed my time so far, although we’ve had a difficult start to the season but I’m looking forward to carrying on trying to get the results we need to do well this year with a great bunch of lads”.
