It may have been more of a wake than a celebration, but Darlington beat Alfreton 3-0 to at least give their fans something to cheer this afternoon.

The supporters are still angry that Darlo can’t compete in the play-offs after their ground was deemed to not have enough seats for promotion into the National League.

They put their woes to one side and easily beat Alfreton, who have now lost their last five league matches.

Nathan Cartman put Darlington ahead before Josh Gillies scored another just before the hour mark.

Terry Galbraith ended the game as a contest to make sure they returned from the Impact Arena with something to smile about.

Harrogate Town are having a nightmare of their own and their weak performance against Nuneaton would have left manager Simon Weaver unhappy.

They went down 2-1 and Boro are now six unbeaten at manager Tommy Wright looks to be making his mark on the club.

Devon Kelly-Evans made up for his earlier miss by getting the all-important goal.

Stalybirdge Celtic’s hopes of survival took a big knock as they went down 2-1 at Gloucester City.

Luke Hopper scored twice in the final 15 minutes to give Steve Burr’s side a long trip home with nothing to show for it.

FC United have had a challenging season themselves and another home defeat, this time to Brackley, will give them plenty to think about over the close season.

James Armson got what turned out to be the winner three minutes after the Red Rebels levelled through Nathan Lowe’s penalty.

Gaz Dean opened the scoring in front of nearly 3,000 at Broadhurst Park.

Bradford Park Avenue and Tamworth seemed to be in end of season mode as they drew 0-0.
