Jim Gannon, manager of Vanarama National League North club Stockport County, has swooped to sign Elliot Osborne from Sky Bet League One side Fleetwood Town.
The 20-year-old joins the Hatters on an initial one-month loan deal.
Osborne joined the Cod Army from Nantwich Town in the summer having scored 22 goals for the Dabbers in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division last season from central midfield.
He’s made one appearance so far for Fleetwood as well as three appearances during a loan spell at Tranmere Rovers in October.
He began his career as a trainee with Port Vale, spending nine years at Vale Park before joining Nantwich.
Gannon said: “Elliot has been on my radar for some time now and I’m pleased to be able to bring him into the club. With Gary Stopforth leaving us at the end of the month it’s important to make sure we minimise any disruption during that transition and keep the squad strong. Elliot is also a player capable of scoring goals from midfield, so he’ll be a good addition to the group.”
Osborne is no stranger to Edgeley Park, having played for the Dabbers in their shock 2-0 win over County in the Third Qualifying Round of the Buildbase FA Trophy in 2015.
