David Morgan has today left Nuneaton Town to join Vanarama National League North rivals and leaders AFC Fylde for an undisclosed fee.

The former Northern Ireland under-21 international joined the club in the summer of 2015 from Ilkeston FC and has gone on to give us good service since then.

“Part of me is disappointed that we have lost a key player and the other part is pleased that we have been able to play a big part in his development to get this move,” admitted manager, Tommy Wright. “For the past three weeks or so we have tried to get him to commit to the football club for another two years.

“Unfortunately, it soon became apparent that this wasn’t about money, it was about the player wanting to go and play as high as possible.

“At that point the club simply has to get the best deal possible as he would be out of contract in three months, and I feel that we have achieved that.

“We wish Morgs all the best in his future career; his professionalism and application has been second-to-none. I’ve loved every minute of working with him and will definitely keep in touch”.
