Evo-Stik League Southern Division One Central club Bedford Town have signed Ronayne Marsh-Brown.

Marsh-Brown is a 32-year-old defender who plays predominately at left-back.

He started his career as a schoolboy at Brentford before being offered professional contracts at Gillingham and Reading.

However, he decided instead to go to Holland and join RKC Wallwijk under Martin Jol.

Following three years in Holland, Marsh-Brown moved on to FC Bruges in Belgium before returning to England with Crawley Town.

Spells at Macclesfield Town and MK Dons under Paul Ince then followed, before moving into non-League football with Welling, Maidenhead United, Harrow Borough, Lewes and winning the Ryman Premier League with Sutton United.

The defender completed his transfer from league rivals Chalfont St Peter, where he has been this season.

Eagles manager Jon Taylor said: “The signing of Ronayne will not only bolster the squad, but will also give us invaluable experience defensively. In addition to this, he also brings good leadership on the pitch and will help and encourage the younger players. His presence and strength will be important for our push to the playoffs and longevity for next season”.
