Kettering Town left it late, but won 2-1 at Holloways Park on Sunday against second-bottom Hayes & Yeading United to move into ninth place in the Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division table.
The Poppies had to come back from a goal down too, as Lewis Putman, making his debut after signing on loan from league rivals Slough Town, gave Hayes & Yeading a 37th minute lead.
The strugglers held that lead until the 64th minute when Dominic Langdon equalised.
And then with 5 minutes remaining, the Poppies won the game through Rene Howe.
The win leaves Kettering six points adrift of Slough in fifth, while Hayes & Yeading are three points behind fifth-bottom St Neots Town.
