Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division club Dorchester Town have announce that Craig Laird has been appointed as their new manager, replacing Mark Jermyn who stood down last week.
Laird, who was at Bridgwater Town from 2006 to 2010, led the Robins to a third-place finish in his final season at Fairfax Park where they were just minutes from securing promotion to Step 3 before falling in extra time of the play-off final to Cirencester Town.
He left Bridgwater to take over at Weston-super-Mare in the summer of 2010, stabilising the Seagulls and guiding them to their highest-ever league position – seventh in the Conference South.
He departed Weston after four years at the Woodspring Stadium and returned to management with Yate Town at the end of the 2014/15 season.
He returned to a youthful looking Bridgwater for a second spell in May this year, replacing the outgoing Paul West.
Stuart Heath and Nathan Walker will take charge of the Basingstoke Town game this afternoon with Laird officially taking over on Tuesday.
