After losing their last two games in the Evo-Stik League South 6-1 and 6-0, Gresley FC recovered well to win 2-1 at the Bill Stokeld Stadium against Carlton Town on Wednesday night.
Stand-in boss Gary Norton brought a young side to Nottingham and, despite the pervious two hammerings, produced a valiant performance.
After a goalless first half, the Moatmen fell behind just 3 minutes after the beak to a Mamoke Akaunu effort.
But goals from Zak Evans 4 minutes later and Kane Lee on 69 minutes gave Gresley all three points.
