Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley, joint-managers of Vanarama National League North promotion-chasers Salford City, have strengthened their squad ahead of the transfer deadline

With the crunch time of the season upon us, the Ammies have recruited forward Harry Panayiotou on loan from National League side Barrow AFC.

The Leicester-born 22-year-old started out with his local side, scoring an injury-time winner after coming on as a substitute at Leeds United’s Elland Road in April 2012.

In October 2014, he went out on loan to Port Vale for a month and in January 2016 moved to Scottish side Raith Rovers until the end of the season. He scored a league goal against Rangers then netted again in the first leg of the end-of-season play-offs although Raith lost on aggregate to Hibernian.

Released by Leicester at the end of the 2015/16 campaign, Panayiotou cut short a trial spell with Borussia Dortmunds under-23 side to join Barrow.

Panayiotou qualified for the St.Kitts & Nevis international side as his mother is Kittian, and so far he has netted 7 times in thirteen appearances (including a hat-trick against Turks & Caicos Islands).
