Clarets Bring In Lee

Vanarama National League South club Chelmsford City have announced the signing of Harry Lee from National League neighbours Braintree Town.

The 22-year-old started his career as a Leyton Orient youngster before being promoted to the first-team in October 2012.

He could only manage being an unused substitute on several occasions before making his professional debut for the O’s as a substitute against Oldham Athletic in April 2013.

Lee has National League South experience having played for Farnborough on-loan during October and November 2013.

During his time with the Yellows, Lee found the net twice during six appearances – including Farnborough’s solitary goal in the 3-1 defeat at the Melbourne Community Stadium.

The midfielder was dispatched on-loan once again in August 2015 to Welling United for a month, and following a successful temporary spell with the Wings, he signed a permanent deal in January 2016.

Lee moved on after Welling’s relegation to the National League South, making a return to the top-flight of non-League football with Chelmsford’s Essex rivals Braintree.

But Lee was involved in yet another relegation as the Iron finished twenty-second in the National League, meaning the Cressing Road-based club made the drop into the National League South.

Lee now joins the Clarets on a one-year deal, with manager Rod Stringer hoping that his latest addition of the summer will aid in his club’s push for promotion.
