Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division newcomers Farsley Celtic have announced the signing of defender Isaac Baldwin.

The youngster can count amongst his previous clubs, Brighouse Town, FC Halifax Town, Ossett Albion and Spennymoor Town.

On signing at Throstle Nest, Baldwin said: “I’m looking forward to meeting all the lads and getting started. It’s been a busy off-season, but Farsley is a great place for me to develop further and the ambition of the club is very exciting.

“The manager has been brilliant from the first moment I spoke to him, outlining that the club is an ambitious one, who play good football, which will hopefully suit my game.

“My ambition for the new season is to make sure I’m playing every week and having a positive impact at both ends of the pitch. The club is looking for promotion again and I’m looking forward to being part of that.”

Celts boss Adam Lakeland said of the new signing: “I’m delighted to have Isaac on board. I wanted to add a natural left-back to the squad and in Isaac I believe we have an excellent young player who will continue to improve.

“He already has experience at this level having played for Spennymoor in their run towards eventual promotion, with other NPL experience gained at Brighouse and Ossett Albion prior to that as well, so he knows what it’s like to play in these leagues. I’m sure Isaac will be an excellent addition to the group”.
