Evo-Stik League South Premier club St Ives Town have announced the signing of Lewis Ferrell.
After three impressive performances against Peterborough United, AFC Rushden & Diamonds and Bedford Town, manager Ricky Marheineke has moved quickly to sign the 26-year-old centre-back.
Ferrell started his career at Stevenage before moving to Brentford.
He has since spent five seasons playing in the Conference (National League) South for Hayes & Yeading United, Farnborough, Staines Town and Hampton & Richmond Borough.
After suffering a serious knee injury, he spent last season sidelined but has worked hard to get himself fit and has shown during the past couple of weeks what a tremendous player he is.
Marheineke told the club`s official website: “I’m delighted with the signing of Lewis. He is honest and hard working. His knowledge and experience is second to none. Some players lead by the way they organise and communicate and some with how they perform. Lewis does both. He’s a winner and wants to sign for the club to help move us move forward. I felt we needed a right sided centre-back and I’m delighted Lewis has agreed to join”.
