Hallmark Security League Division One club New Mills AFC have confirmed the signing of experienced midfielder Arron Kirk.

Manager Calum Sykes has long been an admirer of Kirk and has landed his man following successful discussions.

Kirk has vast experience of playing in the North West Counties Football League, most recently appearing for Congleton Town and 1874 Northwich having also been at Bacup Borough, Mossley AFC, Ashton United and Old Ashtonians.

On joining the Millers, Kirk said: “When I spoke with the Gaffer about coming across to New Mills I was overwhelmed by his desire to have me join the squad and play my part in bringing success to the club this season. I can’t wait to meet the rest of the squad this week at training and then hopefully make my home debut this Saturday vs Eccleshall.”

Sykes said: “l’ve been a big fan of Kirky for the last twelve years, back when he was playing college football. He’s developed his game fantastically and his talent will be a fantastic asset to our team. His experience will be invaluable to our squad and I can’t wait to start working with him”.
