York City’s Adriano Moke says he signed a new deal with the club as he think the Minstermen have what it takes to go up at the first attempt writes Tom Feaheny.

The twenty seven year old is in his second spell with the Minstermen after spending the 2011/12 season at Bootham Crescent.

He has now won the FA Trophy twice with the club although last season he saw the team relegated to the Vanarama National League North. Speaking to the club player he said he’s glad to be staying.

“It’s good to get it sorted as soon as possible. I want to show my loyalty to the club and to the gaffer.  I am still gutted what happened last season but that has gone now.

“We will try and put it right this season and try and bounce back.”

Moke made eighteen appearances in all competitions last season after rejoining from Boreham Wood.

City will remain a full-time side despite their relegation. That is something that Moke thinks will give them an advantage.

“It will help us, I am looking forward to it and working again, we know we have a lot to do and I can’t wait to get started.”
