Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley, joint-managers of Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division new boys Salford City, have added more players to their squad for the forthcoming season

With the new campaign just over five weeks away the Ammies have bolstered their squad with some new – and familiar – faces.

Returning to Moor Lane from last season are forward Matty Chadwick and full-back Cavell Coo along with goalkeepers Martin Fearon and Marcus Burgess.

Craig Dootson, who starred during the crucial 2-1 win at Bamber Bridge in January, takes on the role of goalkeeping coach and will also be signing on as a player.

There are new faces too, starting with Matt Coughlan, a 16-year-old midfielder who has been with the club’s youth team since leaving Bolton Wanderers in February this year.

Salford-born Luke Giverin arrives from Hyde United and he can operate as a play-making central midfielder or a left-back.

Twenty-two-year-old Giverin started out with Manchester United before being loaned out to Belgian side Royal Antwerp where he made more than twenty first-team appearances.

A move to Hyde followed in August 2014 and forty-two appearances were chalked up for the Ewen Fields outfit last season.

Also signing for Salford this week is 21-year-old central midfielder Luke Clark, who can also operate at right-back.

Liverpudlian Clark was with home city club Everton as a youngster before moving to Preston North End.

He made his first-team bow in November 2011, scoring the winning penalty as North End overcame Rochdale in a Johnstone`s Paint Trophy tie.

A move to Accrington Stanley followed and he made seven League appearances before moving to Witton Albion last season.

Last but by no means least is winger Shelton Payne, who joins from neighbours FC United of Manchester.

Twenty-six-year-old Payne hails from Cardiff and joined FC United in January this year from Trafford where he had notched up 16 goals despite playing for a struggling side.

An exciting attacking player, Payne will add quality and finishing power to the squad and has also spent time with the likes of Hyde, Barrow AFC and Colwyn Bay.
