Paul Phillips, joint-manager of Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division club Ashton United, has confirmed the signing of Chorley front man Aaron Burns.
Having plied his trade at Hurst Cross in the past, Burns gained a reputation for being one of the most prolific goal scorers in the clubs 137 year history.
Scoring over 100 times during 250 plus appearances, the forward has played for Nantwich Town and most recently the Magpies since leaving the Robins in 2013.
Phillips commented saying: “We are delighted to announce that Aaron Burns has returned to Ashton United. He is one of the best finishers in the division and it is great that he has returned to Hurst Cross to help the club.”
In other news Lee Rick and Jake Williams have been released by the club, with Rick departing to join eighth tier Trafford FC managed by ex-Robin Tom Baker and Williams moving to league rivals Buxton.
